About BlueLadder Builders

Who We Are, Where We Started, and How We Build

We’ve Been on Your Side of a Remodel

BlueLadder Builders started with a personal understanding of what homeowners need from a contractor. Brothers Nick and Chris Carroll, along with John Wright, had each experienced difficult remodels in their own homes. Unanswered calls and missed timelines helped shape the kind of company they wanted to build: one where the owners stayed involved, and homeowners understood what was happening.

Our early projects came through relationships with designers and referrals from clients. As those relationships grew, so did the projects, taking us into substantial whole home remodeling and more complex construction across South and Central Florida.

Today, we serve Palm Beach, Martin, and Polk Counties, helping homeowners improve the design and functionality of spaces they want to keep calling home. We do this because we know how much a remodel asks of you, financially and personally.

You deserve a team that takes that responsibility seriously.

The Way Your Home Is Treated Matters

Long before BlueLadder Builders, John Wright built and ran a moving company serving interior designers. His team handled and installed artwork in high-end homes, where protecting the surroundings mattered as much as completing the delivery. That experience helped shape how we approach working in someone else’s home.

A remodel means inviting a construction team into a place that holds your routines, belongings, and memories. We take time to discuss access and protect surrounding spaces, with cleanup built into the workday. We also talk through how construction may affect your routine so you can prepare.

That care extends to the decisions you make along the way.

We coordinate with outside architects, designers, and engineers when needed, and welcome professionals you already trust.

Our job is to help turn those plans into a finished space while keeping you informed and involved.

Meet the Team

Nicholas Carroll square

Nick Carroll

Partner

Nick Carroll is a founding partner of BlueLadder Builders and holds three Florida licenses: Certified Building Contractor (CBC1268807), Marine Contractor, and Home Inspector.

Before BlueLadder, Nick spent eight years as a home inspector in Utah. Thousands of hours in crawlspaces, attics, and mechanical rooms taught him how houses actually fail, and that’s still how he looks at every job. He’ll find the rot, the bad framing, and the shortcuts someone else left behind up front, not halfway through the project. Clients get a clearer scope and fewer surprises.

From there, Nick moved into foundation and marine construction, leading regional operations for a national foundation company. His work includes helical piling, pile installation, and structural foundation repair, the work most homeowners never see but everything else depends on.

At BlueLadder, there’s no handoff from a salesman to a project manager you’ve never met. Nick and his partners walk the jobs, write the scopes, run the work, and pick up the phone. When you hire BlueLadder, you’re working directly with an owner from start to finish.

Chris Carroll

Partner

Chris Carroll is a founding partner of BlueLadder Builders. He grew up in his family’s construction business and learned early what separates good work from work that just gets by.

Before BlueLadder, Chris worked as a high-end custom painter in Southern California, then built a deep background in flooring on both the design and installation side. Those are finish trades, and finish work is where clients notice everything. Chris knows what a clean transition, a straight cut line, and a properly prepped surface look like, and he knows when they’re not there.

He also spent years in sales, where he learned that most of the frustration on a job comes from clients not knowing what’s going on. Chris makes sure clients understand the scope, the selections, and the price before work starts, and that they stay in the loop once it does.

At BlueLadder, there’s no handoff from a salesman to a project manager you’ve never met. Chris and his partners walk the jobs, write the scopes, run the work, and pick up the phone. When you hire BlueLadder, you’re working directly with an owner from start to finish.

John Wright

Partner

John Wright is a founding partner of BlueLadder Builders and has owned and run his own business for more than 20 years, all of it built around one thing: getting interiors right.

He works directly with homeowners and interior designers to turn a plan into a finished room, and he’s usually the one on site making sure it comes together the way it was drawn. On design-driven jobs, that’s where things tend to slip. A detail looks great on paper and doesn’t work in the field, or it gets built and doesn’t look the way anyone pictured. John closes that gap.

He thinks like a builder and sees like a designer. He can tell you how something goes together and whether it’ll look right once it does. That’s what keeps the work clean, the details tight, and the clients happy.

At BlueLadder, there’s no handoff from a salesman to a project manager you’ve never met. John and his partners walk the jobs, write the scopes, run the work, and pick up the phone. When you hire BlueLadder, you’re working directly with an owner from start to finish.

Our Remodeling Process

1 | Talk & Explore

We start with a conversation about what you’d like to change, your budget, and your timing. Next, one of our partners visits your property to walk the space with you. You’ll receive a detailed written proposal that explains the scope, pricing, and allowances so you can make an informed decision.

2 | Plan & Prepare

Once we agree on the work, we coordinate the outside design and engineering support your project needs, work through selections, and manage permitting. We also establish the construction schedule and discuss how the work will affect your daily routine. Your JobTread portal keeps project details in one accessible place.

3 | Build & Beyond

One of BlueLadder’s owners stays directly involved throughout construction, with regular updates and progress photos to help you follow the work. We finish with a quality check, a walkthrough together, and a final punch list. After completion, your project is backed by our one-year workmanship warranty and applicable manufacturer warranties.

Hear From Your Neighbors

John, Nick and Chris did a fabulous job on a few home renovations for our family. I then used them on a larger construction project for my office - loved how it all turned out! They’re working on a large project for my parents home now and they couldn’t be more thrilled with how it’s going. Thanks so much to John, Nick, Chris and their team!
